Brand History
Founded in Shandong in 2010, Half Acre started with a niche within body care — scrubs. Using sea salt with plant oils, a value price and heavy user-review content, it built reputation on e-commerce before extending into body lotions, washes and hand masks to form a full body-care matrix.
Body care is less contested and more repeat-driven than facial skincare, which gave the brand room among lower-tier and younger consumers. It remains primarily online through Tmall and Douyin, with recent moves into supermarkets and multibrand stores. C2CC reported in April 2026 that its parent has entered the IPO process with revenue in the RMB 2-5bn range, though detailed financials are not yet public.

Observation: Half Acre benefits from body care's low-competition dividend — less intense launch competition than facial skincare, with consumers focused on efficacy and value and steady repurchase. But that dividend is fading: as more facial brands extend into body, Half Acre needs a second memory hook beyond scrub or it will be squeezed from above and below.
