Brand History
Timage was founded in 2014 by makeup artist Tang Yi, who spent years doing looks for celebrities and international brands. The premise: domestic makeup lacked products designed around an artist's technique, especially contouring — Asian bone structure needs finer light-to-shadow transitions, while existing products were either Western-toned or impractical for daily wear. The tri-colour contour palette turned technique into product and earned credibility through makeup artists.
Proya took control in 2020, adding supply chain, e-commerce operations and capital. Timage kept its professional positioning while expanding from pro channels to Tmall, Douyin and department-store counters, extending from contour into highlight, base and concealer at RMB 150-400. It reached RMB 1.26bn in 2025, growing while the makeup market contracted — one of few domestic brands scaling on professional endorsement rather than低价 volume.
